DESCRIPTION:Team Nigeria has been crowned champions of Africa at the 14th Africa Armwrestling Championship in Abuja\, Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.  \nThe championship drew participation from over 20 African nations\, with Team Nigeria emerging overall champions after winning 28 gold\, 35 silver\, and 38 bronze medals across male\, female\, and para categories.  \nNigeria fielded its largest-ever squad of 172 athletes\, dominating the left-hand category on the opening day with 24 gold\, 19 silver\, and 19 bronze medals as Ghana and Benin followed in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. \nThe Abuja championship was widely praised for its high energy\, crowd turnout\, and improved organizational standards\, setting the stage for Accra 2026. Member nations including Nigeria\, Ghana\, Cameroon\, and Benin Republic are now expected to battle fiercely in Accra as the competition doubles as the pathway to the 2027 African Games.
