The Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 Africa Armwrestling Championships in consultation with the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA) has changed the date for the 12th edition of the championship scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana.

The continental championship dubbed ‘Accra 2023’ was rescheduled due to the postponement of the Africa Games and to also give Member Federations enough time to mobilize funds, sponsorship and prepare to be able to participate in the Championships.

According the organisers, the new date for the Championship is slated for June 21 – 25 in Accra, Ghana.

They said there will also be a two-day AFA Coaches and Referees Certificate/Classification Training on June 20 to 21.

They added that Ghana was ready to host the continent and stressed that the Africa Armwrestling Championship 2023 will still the qualifiers for the Africa Games now to be held in March 2024.

The championship will commemorate 20yrs of Africa Armwrestling and Ghana will look forward to welcoming all member countries and federations.
